I live in Málaga. It is a big city with a population of about 700.000 people. The teenagers can do many things in Málaga. There are many restaurats, discos, gym, libraries, CD shops, supermarkets, sport stores, etc. I really think Málaga is very nice. I love the city centre, the beaches and its shopping centres. The thing I don't like in Málaga is that it isn't very clean.

Málaga

Málaga is an Andalusian city on the south coast of Spain. Málaga has a population of about 600.000 or 700.000 inhabitants.
I´ve lived in Málaga all my life, seventeen years.
In Málaga people can do many things: you can practise sport if you like, you can go sailing, fishing, shopping, or you can go to the cinema, to museums, go sightseeing, etc.
Also, there are plenty of cafés and some of them are very entertaining for teenagers.
There are good sports and leisure facilities, too.
In Málaga I like the beaches, and the facilties because you can go to chiscos, to a sports centre or to a shopping centre and you can get anything you need.
However, I don´t like the dirt of the city

Málaga should improve the cleanliness of its streets.

Málaga

Málaga is in the South of Spain, in Andalucía. Málaga is a very populated city because of the beach, and of the weather. Many people visit Málaga because they have heard of its artists: Antonio Banderas and Pablo Ruiz Picasso, or to visit its fair and to see the Holy Week processions, too.

I've lived in Málaga since I was born.

In Málaga you can go to the country, you can visit the museums and you can also relax in its beaches.

I like Málaga for its people and for the beach.

In my opinion, Málaga is the best city to live in.

23rd April, Book Day

What do you know about BOOK DAY?
Read and learn about the history of BOOK DAY.

When do roses and books go together? The answer is on St George's Day. St George's Day is on 23rd April and people also call it BOOK DAY.
Every year, on 23rd April, people in Catalonia give each other books and roses in honour of St George. This tradition of giving roses began in Catalonia in the 15th century.
According to a Catalan legend, St George killed a dragon, and the dragon's blood turned into a rose bush. St George gave a rose from the bush to a princess, and once a year, men in Catalonia still give roses to women on this day.
But, how did books become part of the festival?
The answer is that both- Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare- died on 23rd April 1616, so because of this coincidence people began giving each other books on this day.
This custom became so popular that countries all over the world have started celebrating BOOK DAY as well.

In Catalonia, On 23rd April it is still a tradition to give a rose as a gift for every book sold.

* Did you know that?:
  • William Shakespeare was born on 23rd April 1564 and died on 23rd April 1616.
  • Inca Garcilaso de la Vega also died on 23rd April 1616.
